The Winters brothers’ father and uncle started a small, local trash removal business on Long Island following the end World War II. Fairly soon, the company branched out with an operation in Florida, while also concentrating on Long Island. As time went on, the sons joined the business.
In the late 1980’s, the boys’ father retired, leaving business operations to his sons. The brothers continued a scaled-down operation on Long Island, as well as purchasing a small waste removal company in Burlington, VT, which, in just three short years, they turned into one of the state’s largest companies.
Returning to Long Island, the brothers began an ambitious strategy of growth through acquisition and a strong sales force. Today, Winters Bros. Waste Systems, Inc., is among the leading waste removal firms on Long Island, with a reputation for uncompromised integrity and outstanding service.
